Updated October 2026. Label facts checked on 21 and 22 October 2026 on each brand's own website. Verve makes one of the products below (Transparent Greens V80), so read the table before you read our view.

Greens powders sold in the UK differ far more on the label than on the shelf. Two of the 12 products below give an amount for every ingredient; the rest put at least some of their greens in a blend with no figures. Some carry all 13 vitamins at 100% NRV, some add none, and vitamin D is missing from several well-known names. Live cultures range from none to 10 billion CFU, and caffeine is often present but rarely stated as a number. This guide compares 12 greens powders on those label facts alone, with no prices, so you can choose on what is in the scoop.

The short answer

  • Every dose on the label and all 13 vitamins at 100% NRV: Verve Transparent Greens V80. 80 ingredients, each with an amount, in a 10g serving.
  • Every dose on the label, no added vitamins: Lean Greens Collagen Greens. 16 ingredients with amounts, including 4g bovine collagen and 4g creatine. Not vegan.
  • Most live cultures: AG1 (10 billion CFU, five strains) and IM8 Daily Ultimate Essentials Pro (10 billion CFU, two strains).
  • Highest vitamin D dose: IM8 at 50μg. Verve V80 and Innermost each give 5μg (100% NRV).
  • Longest ingredient lists: Huel Daily Greens (91) and IM8 (90), both with blends that are not broken down.
  • Named certification programme: AG1 (Informed Sport, Cologne List), IM8 (NSF Certified for Sport), Applied Nutrition (Informed Sport).
  • Short list, no sweetener, no live cultures: Rheal Clean Greens (eight organic ingredients), Bulk Complete Greens (eight greens), Applied Nutrition Critical Greens (17).

Best greens powder UK: the comparison table

"Every dose disclosed?" means an amount per serving for every ingredient, not just the vitamins and minerals. "Not checked by us" means the page would not load for us.

What to look for on the label

1. What is actually in it

Two numbers matter: how many ingredients, and how many have an amount next to them. Ninety ingredients inside five blends tells you what is present, not how much. Here, only Verve V80 (80 ingredients) and Lean Greens (16) give a figure for everything. AG1, IM8 and Innermost give figures for vitamins, minerals and cultures but not for the greens. The other seven give no amounts for their greens.

2. Vitamin and mineral coverage

Count the vitamins, then check the % NRV. Verve V80 lists all 13 at 100% NRV; Innermost seven at 100%; AG1 11, several far above 100% (vitamin C 525%, B12 2000%) and vitamin A at 31%, with no D or K. Four add no vitamins; Huel, Protein Works and WelleCo name vitamins without a figure. The authorised wording for two common ones: vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Both depend on the dose, so they only mean something where the label gives one.

3. Live cultures

Look for named strains and a CFU count. "Contains probiotics" with no number is not a dose. Five products here state a count, two list probiotics without one, and five contain none. The table has the figures.

4. What else to check

Serving size: a 5g teaspoon and a 13g scoop are not the same product. Caffeine: green tea, green coffee bean, guarana and matcha all carry it; only one label here gives a figure. Sweetener: stevia is the most common; WelleCo adds xylitol; IM8 uses fermented sugarcane; three use none. Allergens: wheat grass and barley grass, soy, celery, nut traces and, in Lean Greens, bovine collagen. Testing: a named programme (Informed Sport, Cologne List, NSF Certified for Sport) can be looked up; "lab-tested" without a name cannot.

The products in detail

Verve Transparent Greens V80

V80 is the product we make. 80 ingredients, each with an amount, in a 10g serving. All 13 vitamins at 100% NRV, including D3 (5μg) and K (75μg). Nine minerals, zinc at 100% NRV and the rest from 15% to 70%; no iron or iodine. 8 billion CFU across two strains. 11mg caffeine from guarana. Stevia, 0.7g sugars. Vegan, and gluten-free by batch testing, with certificates available on request. Contains wheat grass and barley grass and may contain traces of hazelnut and walnut. Clinically tested and every batch independently tested for heavy metals, both brand statements. Made in the UK. 28 x 10g sticks or a 30-serving pouch: £75 one-off, £60 a month on subscription, £120 a quarter for three boxes, at vavaverve.com, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Amazon UK. Where it is behind: fewer live cultures than AG1 and IM8, no named certification programme, and it contains caffeine where IM8 and Lean Greens state none. Who it suits: anyone who wants every dose visible and all 13 vitamins in one serving.

AG1

A 13g serving, 30 to a pouch. Amounts are given for 20 vitamins and minerals, six other actives (fibre 2.5g, alpha lipoic acid 42mg, CoQ10 50mg, choline 20mg, inositol 100mg, rutin 20mg) and five strains totalling 10 billion CFU. The greens, fruits, mushrooms and herbs are listed by weight without amounts. Who it suits: anyone who wants the highest stated live culture count and a certification they can look up. Our AG1 alternatives UK comparison has more.

Huel Daily Greens

An 8.5g serving, 30 to a pouch, 91 ingredients across five blends. Amounts inside the blends are not published, and the UK page shows no vitamin amounts, NRVs or vitamin D figure. Who it suits: anyone who wants the longest list here and is comfortable with blends.

IM8 Daily Ultimate Essentials Pro

A 12g serving with 90 ingredients. Many have an amount, but an amino complex (1,580mg) and an electrolyte blend (2,500mg) are given as blends, the mushroom complex and enzymes have none, and the full panel is an image. About nine vitamins are named in US % daily value, including D3 at 50μg and vitamin C at 900mg; minerals include iodine at 150μg, the only iodine in the table. The brand states no caffeine, no stevia and no gluten; vegan is not stated. Who it suits: anyone who wants a certified 90-ingredient formula with a high vitamin D dose.

Free Soul Greens

A 5g heaped teaspoon, 30 servings, 21 superfoods including KSM-66 ashwagandha, spirulina, golden kiwi, chlorella, alfalfa, wheatgrass, lucuma and maca, none with an amount. No added vitamins, no live cultures, no caffeine statement, no testing stated. Who it suits: anyone who wants a small-serving blend formulated for women and does not need vitamins in it.

Rheal Clean Greens

Eight organic ingredients in 5g: baobab, barley grass, wheatgrass, moringa, pineapple, chlorella, spirulina and acerola, and nothing else. Nutrition is per 100g, so you do the maths: 455mg of vitamin C per 100g is about 23mg a serving. The brand says its grasses are tested for gluten cross-contamination but prints no gluten-free statement. Who it suits: anyone who wants a short, organic, whole-food list and nothing added.

Bulk Complete Greens

Eight greens in 9g: spirulina, chlorella, broccoli, pumpkin protein, spinach, alfalfa, moringa and kale, with 2.3g fibre and, unflavoured, nothing else. About 55 servings in 500g. No per-ingredient amounts. The bulk.com page would not load for us, so vegan and gluten-free are not checked. Who it suits: anyone adding plain greens to a routine that already includes a multivitamin.

Applied Nutrition Critical Greens

A 5g scoop, 30 servings in 150g or 50 in 250g. Seventeen ingredients from pea protein concentrate and spirulina to green tea extract and beta-carotene; the nutrition panel is an image, so no amounts in text. Contains celery; made in a facility that processes soy, milk, eggs and gluten. Who it suits: tested athletes who want plain greens with no sweetener.

Protein Works Super Greens 360

A 12g serving, 20 to a 250g bag, 17 greens, superfoods, adaptogens, vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A, C, D, B6, B12 and thiamine are named with iron, magnesium, zinc, calcium and manganese, but no amounts or NRVs are shown. The page would not load for us, so caffeine, sweetener and vegan status are not checked. Who it suits: anyone who wants vitamins in a greens powder and is not worried about seeing the doses.

WelleCo The Super Elixir

A 10g serving from a 300g caddy, five flavours. The Original lists about 44 ingredients against a "40+" claim, from barley grass and alfalfa through Siberian ginseng, milk thistle, maitake, shiitake, turmeric and aloe vera extracts, none with an amount. Biotin, carotene and five minerals are present without figures; no vitamin D. Four live culture strains, with a CFU figure (2.6 billion) only on Mixed Berry. Stated gluten-free, though three flavours carry "contains wheat". Who it suits: anyone who wants a long botanical list and does not need a vitamin figure.

Innermost The Greens Blend

A 6g sachet, 30 to a box. Seven vitamins at 100% NRV (A, C, D3 5μg, E, K2 75μg, B6, B12), no minerals, 584 million spores of Bacillus coagulans. The 25 greens, from barley grass to matcha, maca and bamboo stem, have no individual amounts. 0.6g sugars, "Allergens: None". Who it suits: anyone who wants the smallest serving here with vitamins at 100% NRV.

Lean Greens Collagen Greens

A different kind of product: 12.6g a serving, about 33 servings, with 4g bovine collagen peptides and 4g creatine monohydrate alongside 14 other ingredients, every one with an amount (spinach 1,061mg down to green tea extract 3mg). Contains wheat and barley, may contain celery; made on equipment that handles nuts, milk, shellfish, fish and soya. Made in the UK. Who it suits: anyone who wants collagen and creatine in the same scoop as their greens, with every dose shown.

Others you will see named

Three names you will see are not in the table, each for a label reason. Supergreen Tonik is a US product priced in dollars; it says it is third-party tested by Eurofins, but its doses are printed only in a label image and its ingredient counts differ from page to page. Amazing Grass Super Greens The Original has no UK site; its US site states 14 organic greens, fruits and vegetables and 1 billion CFU with no strains, serving weight or panel in text. Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods arrived in the UK through Holland & Barrett in January 2026 and claims 38 ingredients, but bloomnu.com publishes no serving weight, blend weights, strains, CFU or sweetener in text.

How to compare greens powders

  • Doses, not ingredient counts. If an ingredient has no figure next to it, you cannot compare it with anything. Count the ingredients that do.
  • Vitamins: how many, and at what % NRV. "Contains vitamins" means nothing without the percentages. Check for vitamin D; several well-known powders leave it out.
  • Live cultures: strains and CFU. A named strain and a count is a dose. "Probiotics" on its own is not.
  • Serving size. Read the gram weight. 5g and 13g are not the same job.
  • Caffeine and allergens. Green tea, green coffee bean, guarana and matcha mean caffeine; look for a figure. Check for wheat grass and barley grass, soy, celery, nuts and, in collagen products, animal sources.
  • Testing you can look up. Informed Sport, Cologne List and NSF Certified for Sport publish their lists. "Lab-tested" with no name does not.
  • Price the plan you will actually be on. We have not compared prices here. Check each brand's site for today's price and divide by the servings yourself.

Greens powders: your questions

What is the best greens powder in the UK?

It depends on what you want the label to show. For every dose listed with all 13 vitamins at 100% NRV, Verve Transparent Greens V80. For the most live cultures, AG1 (10 billion CFU, five strains) or IM8 (10 billion, two). For a certification you can look up, AG1, IM8 or Applied Nutrition. For a short organic list, Rheal. For every dose listed with collagen and creatine, Lean Greens. For the longest list, Huel at 91. No single product tops every column.

Which greens powders list every ingredient dose?

Two of the 12 here: Verve V80 (80 ingredients) and Lean Greens Collagen Greens (16). AG1, IM8 and Innermost give amounts for vitamins, minerals and cultures but not for their greens and botanicals. The other seven give no amounts for their greens.

Do greens powders contain vitamin D?

Not all of them. AG1's UK pouch has none (it sells D3+K2 drops separately), WelleCo lists none, Huel's UK page gives no figure and Applied Nutrition does not state it. Free Soul, Rheal, Bulk and Lean Greens add no vitamins. Verve V80 and Innermost each give 5μg (100% NRV); IM8 gives 50μg; Protein Works lists it without an amount. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, so check the figure, not just the name.

Which greens powder has the most live cultures?

AG1 and IM8 both state 10 billion CFU, AG1 across five strains and IM8 across two. Verve V80 states 8 billion across two. WelleCo gives a count (2.6 billion) only on Mixed Berry; Innermost states 584 million spores. Huel and Protein Works list probiotics without a number. The other five contain none.

Do greens powders contain caffeine?

Many do, through green tea, green coffee bean, guarana or matcha, but almost none state the amount. Verve V80 is the only product here with a figure: 11mg a serving. IM8 and Lean Greens state none. AG1, Huel, Applied Nutrition, WelleCo and Innermost list caffeine-bearing ingredients without a figure.

Are greens powders a replacement for vegetables?

No. A 5g to 13g serving of dried powder is not five portions of vegetables, and none of these labels claims it is. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Is Verve V80 sold in Boots or Holland & Barrett?

Yes. Verve Transparent Greens V80 is stocked by Boots, Holland & Barrett and Amazon UK, and sold direct at vavaverve.com as 28 x 10g sticks or a 30-serving pouch, one-off or on subscription.

How we checked

Every label fact above was read on the brand's own website: vavaverve.com, drinkag1.com/en-uk, uk.huel.com, im8health.com, freesoul.com, rhealsuperfoods.com, bulk.com/uk, appliednutrition.uk and theproteinworks.com on 21 October 2026, and welleco.co.uk, innermostglobal.com, leangreens.com, supergreentonik.com, amazinggrass.com and bloomnu.com on 22 October 2026. Where a page would not load, the cell says "Not checked by us"; where a panel is an image, we have said so. Prices are deliberately not compared here: they change weekly and promotions distort them. Every brand's current price is on its own site. Verve makes Transparent Greens V80; the table is facts you can verify on each label, and our opinion stays in the text.
