Updated November 2026. Label facts checked on 6 November 2026 on each brand's own UK website. Verve makes creatine powder in stick packs, not gummies.

Creatine gummies and creatine powder usually hold the same creatine monohydrate, but the labels differ. The six UK gummies we checked need three or four gummies for one serving of 3g to 4.5g, and most add sugar, glucose syrup, pectin, acids and flavourings. Unflavoured powder can be one ingredient. Creatine turns into creatinine faster with heat, water and acid, and gummies are made with heat and water, often with acid, so ask for a certificate for the finished gummy. The authorised GB claim is "Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise." The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3g of creatine, and the claim applies to adults performing high intensity exercise.

The short answer

  • Dose: three or four gummies per serving, about 0.75g to 1.1g each. A 5g stick or scoop of powder is one serving.
  • Read the unit: 3g of creatine monohydrate gives about 2.6g of creatine. The claim's condition is 3g of creatine.
  • Extras: gummies add sugar or a replacement, a gelling agent, acids and flavourings.
  • Testing: ask for a certificate showing the creatine in the finished gummy, for your batch.
  • From Verve: Verve Creatine Monohydrate, 5g of creatine monohydrate per stick, nothing added, independently tested three times per batch.

Dose: how many gummies make 3g

A gummy's weight is not its creatine content. The servings above work out at about 0.75g to 1.1g of creatine monohydrate per gummy. Creatine monohydrate is about 88% creatine, so 3g gives about 2.6g of creatine, and about 3.4g gives the 3g of the claim's condition. Five of the six pages call their 3g both "creatine" and "creatine monohydrate". Only Known Nutrition gives both figures. Our creatine monohydrate guide shows the conversion.

What else you eat with each

  • Sugar. Four of the six list sugar, as sucrose or sugar plus glucose syrup. Known Nutrition gives 8.8g per serving, about 29% of the NHS maximum of 30g of free sugars a day for adults.
  • Gelling agent. Gelatine comes from animals, pectin from fruit. Every gummy here that names one uses pectin.
  • Acids and colours. Bulk and Known Nutrition list citric acid. Bulk adds Brilliant Blue FCF. Applied Nutrition's BodyFuel Berry Blast gummies list E122 and E131, with the warning "May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children".

Unflavoured powder adds nothing else, but you need a drink to take it.

Stability: heat, water and acid

Creatine is stable as a dry powder, but not once it is dissolved. In water, the creatine molecule slowly closes into a ring and becomes creatinine. The warmer and more acidic it is, the faster this happens, and creatinine no longer counts towards your daily amount. BSCG, a US testing organisation, says "Gummy manufacturing exposes creatine to all three risk factors at once: water, heat, and acid." Water is on all three gummy ingredients lists we could read, and two list citric acid.

In 2024 NOW, a US supplement maker, had 12 creatine gummy brands tested. NutraIngredients reported that about half fell short of their label claims. None of the products in our table was named. Here, Warrior says every batch is tested for creatine by two independent labs and links the certificates, and Known Nutrition adds a 20% overage to every batch. The other four say nothing about creatine in the finished gummy.

What to ask the brand for

  • A certificate for the finished gummy, not for the creatine that went into it.
  • Your batch number.
  • Creatine measured by HPLC or similar, with creatinine alongside.
  • An accredited independent lab, such as ISO/IEC 17025.

Informed Sport screens for banned substances, not creatine content. More in our guide to choosing a creatine product.

How to work out the cost per 3g of creatine

  1. Find the creatine per serving. If the label gives only creatine monohydrate, multiply by 0.88.
  2. Multiply by the servings in the pack.
  3. Divide the price you will pay by that total, then multiply by 3.

Who should check with a doctor first

  • Anyone with a kidney condition.
  • Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Anyone taking medication or with a medical condition.
  • Anyone told to limit sugar: a sugared gummy adds it every day.
  • Children. The claim is for adults, and gummies look like sweets. Keep them out of reach.

Others you will see named

Ovrload's Crealyte gummies page lists magnesium citrate, sodium citrate and vitamin D3 with no amounts and no clear serving. Optimum Nutrition's UK page gives 5g per serving but no ingredients or gummy count.

Verve Creatine Monohydrate stick packs

Verve makes unflavoured creatine monohydrate powder in single-serving sticks, not gummies.

  • Per stick: 5g of creatine monohydrate, about 4.4g of creatine. One stick a day, no loading phase.
  • Ingredients: one. No fillers, no sweeteners. 99.9% pure, 200 mesh. Listed as vegan on the product page.
  • Testing: every batch is tested three times by independent laboratories, with certificates on request from hello@vavaverve.com. Warrior links its certificates on its page, which is more open. No named anti-doping testing programme.
  • Prices: 28 sticks at £24.99 one-off (89p a stick), £18.99 a month on subscription (68p) or £47.99 a quarter for 84 (57p).
  • Cost per 3g of creatine: 28 sticks give about 123g of creatine, so about 61p one-off, 46p monthly and 39p quarterly.

Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3g of creatine, and the claim applies to adults performing high intensity exercise. If you have a kidney condition, check with your doctor before use. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition, check with your doctor first. Not suitable for children. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Full label on the Creatine Monohydrate 28 stick pack page.

Creatine gummies vs powder: your questions

How many creatine gummies equal a scoop of powder?

It depends on the creatine per gummy. A 5g scoop or stick of creatine monohydrate equals five 1g gummies, or about seven at 0.75g. Never take more gummies than the pack directs.

Do creatine gummies work as well as powder?

There is no authorised basis to compare them. Compare the creatine per serving, in grams of creatine, and ask the brand for the certificate for your batch showing the creatine in the finished gummy.

Are creatine gummies vegan?

Many are. Gelatine comes from animals, so a gelatine gummy is not vegan. All six in our table say vegan or vegan-friendly, and those that name a gelling agent use pectin. Check any coating too.

Do creatine gummies have sugar?

Most do: four of our six, usually sucrose and glucose syrup. Known Nutrition gives 8.8g per serving, about 29% of the NHS adult maximum of 30g of free sugars a day. Read the ingredients, not just a badge.

Why do some gummies list less creatine than the front says?

The front figure may be per serving of three or four gummies, or in creatine monohydrate rather than creatine: Known Nutrition's 4,500mg provides 4,000mg of creatine. Creatine can also turn into creatinine during making and storage. Known Nutrition says it adds a 20% overage so the label figure is met. Only a finished-gummy test shows what is in it.

How we checked

Label facts: appliednutrition.uk, bulk.com/uk, knownnutrition.co.uk, myprotein.com, teamwarrior.com, ovrload.co and optimumnutrition.com/en-gb, on 6 November 2026. Claim: retained Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 on legislation.gov.uk. Free sugars: nhs.uk. Stability: the International Society of Sports Nutrition position stand on creatine (2017) and BSCG's October 2026 note on creatine gummy testing, also the source for the certificate checks. The 2024 tests: NutraIngredients, 1 March 2024. Verve facts: vavaverve.com. Other brands' prices are deliberately not compared: they change weekly and promotions distort them. Only health claims authorised in Great Britain are used. The mention of other brands is for comparison only. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
