Updated November 2026. Label facts checked on 5 and 6 November 2026 on each brand's own UK website. Verve makes one of the products below (Creatine Monohydrate Stick Pack), so read the table before you read our view.
Ten UK creatine monohydrate products come up most often in searches: eight powders in tubs, bags or pouches, one box of sachets and one stick pack. Their labels differ in four ways: the creatine monohydrate in a serving (3g to 5g), what else is in it, whether a purity figure is stated, and whether a named testing programme is. Three name Informed Sport or Informed Choice, three state 99.9% purity, and four give no testing statement. Creatine monohydrate is creatine bound to one water molecule, about 88% creatine by weight, so 5g gives about 4.4g of creatine. The authorised GB health claim for exercise is that creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3g of creatine, and the claim is for adults performing high intensity exercise. Here are the ten, compared on their labels.
The short answer
- 5g sticks, one ingredient, purity and mesh stated: Verve Creatine Monohydrate Stick Pack, 28 or 14 unflavoured sticks, 99.9% purity, 200 mesh, every batch tested three times with certificates on request. No named anti-doping programme.
- Named anti-doping programme on the page: Applied Nutrition Creatine Monohydrate (Informed Sport, unflavoured only), Puresport Creatine Monohydrate (Informed Sport, 30 x 5g sachets) and Myprotein Impact Creatine (Informed Choice).
- 99.9% purity stated: Verve, Bulk and The Protein Works.
- 5g of unflavoured powder in a tub or bag: Bulk, Applied Nutrition and Innermost.
- Creatine figure printed at 3.0g a serving: Optimum Nutrition Micronised Creatine Powder (3.4g creatine monohydrate).
- Most flavours: Warrior and Bulk, six each plus unflavoured.
- Smallest pack to try: Verve's 14-stick pack, then The Protein Works and Bulk at 100g.
Best creatine monohydrate UK: the comparison table
Every column is a label fact read from each brand's UK site. "Not stated" means the page does not give it; where a page gives two figures, both are shown. Prices are left out on purpose; the reason is in "How we checked".

5g creatine per stick, triple tested, 28 sticks
From $38.00/month
What the ten labels say
Six of the ten give 5g a serving; Myprotein and The Protein Works give 3g, Optimum Nutrition 3.4g, and Free Soul both 3.4g and 5g. Only Bulk and Optimum Nutrition print the creatine figure as well. Every unflavoured product is creatine monohydrate alone. For flavoured versions most pages give no list; Warrior's, the one we could read, adds sucralose, an acid, an anti-caking agent and a colour. Three state 99.9% purity. Three name a testing programme, Applied Nutrition's for unflavoured only. Verve, Bulk and Innermost make their own testing statements, and four brands make none. Five pages give serving or pack figures that do not agree with each other.
The products in detail
Verve Creatine Monohydrate Stick Pack
Verve's stick pack is the product we make. Each stick is 5g of creatine monohydrate, about 4.4g of creatine, at a stated 99.9% purity and 200 mesh, with nothing else in it. Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3g of creatine, for adults performing high intensity exercise. Every batch is tested three times by independent laboratories; the three certificates are available on request from hello@vavaverve.com. Where it is behind: no named anti-doping programme, certificates on request rather than linked, no tub or flavour, more packaging per serving. £24.99 one-off for 28 (89p a stick), £18.99 a month (68p) or £47.99 a quarter for 84 (57p). Who it suits: anyone who wants a pre-measured, single-ingredient 5g dose with batch certificates they can ask for.
Myprotein Impact Creatine
A creatine monohydrate powder with a 3g serving, about 2.6g of creatine; the FAQ says "sometimes up to 5g". Unflavoured, Berry Burst, Blue Raspberry, Tropical and Vimto. The 500g pack is 147 servings, which works out at 3.4g each; other sizes are listed by serving count only. The ingredients and nutrition sections were empty both days we checked. The FAQ says Impact Creatine is Informed Choice certified, a named programme with a public register. No mesh, micronising or purity figure. Sachets are also sold. Who it suits: anyone who wants Informed Choice and a wide choice of flavours and sizes.
Bulk Creatine Monohydrate Powder
A resealable pouch from 100g to 1kg, unflavoured or in six flavours from Apple & Lime to Vanilla. Two scoops make about 5g, and the nutrition table shows "of which creatine 4.4g". Unflavoured is creatine monohydrate only; there is no list for the flavours. Purity is stated at 99.9%. Testing is "rigorously tested to the highest quality standards", with no lab or programme named. Servings per pack are not stated. Bulk is in Colchester. Who it suits: anyone who wants a 5g unflavoured serving with purity and creatine content on the label, in large packs.
Optimum Nutrition Micronised Creatine Powder
Micronised creatine monohydrate, unflavoured in 187g, 317g and 634g (55 to 186 servings) or in Fruit Punch, Blue Raspberry and Orange. The nutrition table gives 3.4g of creatine monohydrate and 3.0g of creatine a serving, but heads the serving 3.6g, and other lines say 3g; the page does not reconcile them. Unflavoured is creatine monohydrate alone; no list is given for the flavours. No testing statement and no Informed Choice or Informed Sport wording on the UK page. Storage: cool and dry. 3g sachets are also sold. Who it suits: anyone who wants a smaller serving with the creatine figure printed on the label.
Applied Nutrition Creatine Monohydrate
A 5g serving of "100% Micronised Creatine Monohydrate", unflavoured in 250g, 500g and 1kg (50 to 200 servings) or in Cherry & Apple, Strawberry & Raspberry and Icy Blue Raz. The nutrition table is an image and the flavours have no ingredient list. The page says every batch is tested for banned substances under the Informed-Sport programme, at an ISO 17025 accredited lab, and footnotes this "Only on unflavoured Creatine". Directions are one to two servings a day, eight weeks on and one week off. A 5g stick is also sold. Who it suits: tested athletes who want Informed Sport on an unflavoured 5g tub.
Puresport Creatine Monohydrate (30 pack)
Sachets only; we found no tub on Puresport's site. Thirty 5g sachets of creatine monohydrate: "One ingredient. No blends. No fillers." No flavour is listed. The page states "Informed Sport Certified" and calls the powder "high mesh", with no number. Vegan, gluten free and made in the UK. A loading phase is described as optional. No purity figure and no storage line. It is the closest like-for-like to Verve's stick, with a named programme Verve does not have. Who it suits: tested athletes who want a single-ingredient 5g sachet with Informed Sport on the box.
Free Soul Pure Creatine
Micronised creatine monohydrate, unflavoured or Mango, 60 servings a pack, sold as two, six or twelve-month supplies. The page gives two servings: "5g Premium Creatine per serving" in its summary, and "one rounded teaspoon (3.4g)" in the directions, which is about 3.0g of creatine. Unflavoured is "1 ingredient" with "0 fillers"; there is no list for Mango and no pack weight. No testing statement, purity figure or storage advice. The page says 100% vegan. Who it suits: anyone who wants a teaspoon serving, unflavoured or mango, and will check the pack for what the page leaves out.
Innermost creatine monohydrate
One creatine, under the product name in the table: a 300g bag of unflavoured creatine monohydrate, 5g (one rounded teaspoon) a serving, 60 servings, with nothing else listed. The page gives Germany as the origin and says it is free from the 14 major allergens. On testing, it says that once ingredients arrive, "we batch test every single one before it gets approval to go into the manufacturing process", with no lab or programme named. No purity figure, mesh or storage advice. Innermost is in London. Who it suits: anyone who wants a single-ingredient 5g powder in one plain size.
Warrior Creatine Monohydrate Powder
Micronised creatine monohydrate in a 500g tub, unflavoured or in six flavours from Blue Razz to Tropical Sunrise. The directions say one 5g scoop a day; another line says "3-5g per scoop". The only ingredient list, for a 300g tub with no flavour named, is creatine monohydrate, flavouring, sucralose, citric acid, silicon dioxide and beta carotene; unflavoured is not listed separately. Servings are "up to 100+", while the product images say 166 unflavoured and 150 flavoured. "100% pure", with no figure and no testing statement. Made in Manchester. Who it suits: anyone who wants a flavoured creatine and accepts a sweetener and a colour.
The Protein Works Creatine 360
Micronised creatine monohydrate at a stated 99.9% purity and 200 mesh, the same two figures Verve states. One 3g scoop, about 2.6g of creatine, unflavoured or in Berry Blitz and Orange Burst. Packs run from 100g (33 servings) to 1kg (250); the three larger counts work out at 4g a serving, not the 3g stated. The ingredients tab was not in the page text either day, so we could not see what the flavours add. No testing statement and no storage advice. Who it suits: anyone who wants purity and mesh figures on the label and a smaller scoop.
Others you will see named
Thorne, Klean Athlete, BulkSupplements and Transparent Labs come up in UK roundups but are US brands; we have not checked them on a UK site. Naked Nutrition and USN were not checked for this article. Creapure is a trade name for a creatine monohydrate ingredient, not a product; none of the ten pages names it. Warrior's and Free Soul's blends with electrolytes or collagen are not plain creatine monohydrate. Sachets and sticks from Myprotein, Optimum Nutrition, Applied Nutrition, Zooki and Ancient + Brave are in our creatine stick pack comparison.
How to compare creatine monohydrate
- Grams in a serving, not in a scoop. Optimum Nutrition's serving is headed 3.6g and holds 3.4g of creatine monohydrate; Warrior and Free Soul each give two figures. Read the nutrition table.
- Creatine and creatine monohydrate are different numbers. Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3g of creatine, and the claim is for adults performing high intensity exercise. That is 3g of creatine: about 3.4g of creatine monohydrate gives 3g of creatine, as the table in our creatine monohydrate explainer shows. 5g gives about 4.4g; 3g about 2.6g.
- Check servings against pack weight. The Protein Works' larger packs work out at 4g a serving against a stated 3g; Myprotein's 500g works out at 3.4g; Bulk gives no count.
- Read the other ingredients. Every unflavoured product here is creatine monohydrate alone. Flavoured versions add sweeteners, acids or colours, and most pages do not list them.
- 99.9% is a figure; "100%" is wording. Verve, Bulk and The Protein Works state 99.9%. "100% pure" (Warrior) and "100% creatine monohydrate" (Optimum Nutrition, Applied Nutrition) describe the ingredient, not a test result.
- Testing has two tiers. Informed Sport and Informed Choice are named programmes with public registers. Verve's triple batch test with certificates on request, Innermost's ingredient tests and Bulk's "rigorously tested" are brand statements. A certificate of analysis is not anti-doping screening.
- Price the plan you will actually be on. One-off, monthly and quarterly plans differ, and pack sizes vary. Check each brand's site for today's price; we have not compared prices in this article.
Creatine monohydrate: your questions
How much creatine monohydrate is in a serving of UK creatine?
Labelled servings run from 3g to 5g. Myprotein and The Protein Works label 3g; Optimum Nutrition 3.4g (3.0g of creatine); Free Soul 3.4g in its directions and 5g in its summary. Verve, Bulk, Applied Nutrition, Puresport, Innermost and Warrior label 5g. This is what the labels say, not a recommendation.
Which UK creatine brands are Informed Sport or Informed Choice?
Three of the ten. Applied Nutrition says every batch of its unflavoured creatine is tested under Informed Sport; its flavours are not. Puresport states Informed Sport Certified. Myprotein says Impact Creatine is Informed Choice certified. Verve tests every batch three times at independent laboratories, with certificates on request, but is not in a named anti-doping programme. If you compete in a tested sport, follow your sport's advice.
Is micronised creatine different from creatine monohydrate?
It is the same compound, milled finer. Mesh measures how fine: 200 mesh is finer than 80. Five brands here say micronised; Verve and The Protein Works state 200 mesh; Puresport says "high mesh". Our guide to choosing a creatine product covers mesh and the other forms.
Tub or stick pack: what changes on the label?
Not the ingredient: an unflavoured tub and an unflavoured stick can both be creatine monohydrate alone. A stick is sealed at a fixed dose, so the label dose is the dose you take. A tub gives a scoop or teaspoon you measure yourself, and three tub pages here give more than one serving figure. A stick uses more packaging per serving and cannot be adjusted.
Does Verve creatine contain anything other than creatine monohydrate?
No. The label has one row: creatine monohydrate, 5g per stick, at a stated 99.9% purity and 200 mesh. Unflavoured, no fillers, no sweeteners. Every batch is tested three times by independent laboratories, and the three certificates are available on request from hello@vavaverve.com.
Where can I buy creatine monohydrate in the UK?
All ten sell from their own websites. Search results also showed Optimum Nutrition at Tesco and Superdrug, Warrior at Tesco, Free Soul at Holland & Barrett and Puresport at Healf; we have not checked those listings. Verve as a brand is also sold at Boots, Holland & Barrett and Amazon UK. Verve's 28-stick pack is £24.99 one-off, £18.99 a month or £47.99 a quarter for 84 sticks at vavaverve.com.
How we checked
Every label fact was taken from the brand's own website on 5 and 6 November 2026: vavaverve.com, myprotein.com, bulk.com/uk, optimumnutrition.com (UK site), appliednutrition.uk, puresport.co, freesoul.com, innermostglobal.com, teamwarrior.com and theproteinworks.com, with each store's own product data feed where one was available. Where a page gave nothing we wrote "Not stated"; where it gave two figures we showed both. Apart from the authorised claim, worded as on the Great Britain nutrition and health claims register with its conditions, we have not repeated any brand's claims about what creatine does. Prices are deliberately not compared here: they change weekly and promotions distort them. Every brand's current price is on its own site. Verve makes the Creatine Monohydrate Stick Pack; the table is label facts, our opinion is in the text.
