Updated November 2026. Label facts checked on 5 November 2026 on each brand's own UK website. Verve makes one of the products below (TMG 1500mg Capsules), so read the table before you read our view.

Nine UK brands sell TMG as capsules, some labelled trimethylglycine and some betaine or betaine anhydrous, and their labels differ in four ways that matter more than the front of the pack: the dose per capsule (500mg to 750mg) and whether a serving is one capsule or two, the servings per pack (30 to 120), whether a purity figure and a certificate of analysis are given, and what else is in the capsule. Three of the nine state a purity figure. Two link a certificate on the page, one supplies it on request, the rest give a testing statement without one, or nothing. TMG is trimethylglycine, the amino acid glycine with three methyl groups attached; it is also called betaine, is sold as betaine anhydrous, and occurs naturally in beetroot and wheat bran. That is the chemistry, and this article makes no claim beyond it. Here are the nine UK TMG products that come up most often, compared on their labels.

The short answer

  • Highest dose per labelled serving, one ingredient, certificate on request: Verve TMG 1500mg Capsules, 2 x 750mg, 60 capsules, 30 servings. The label says 98% betaine anhydrous in a plant cellulose shell; every batch is tested and the certificate is available on request.
  • Certificate of analysis linked on the page: Longevity Box TMG Supplement, 750mg in one capsule, 120 servings, 99%+ purity, certificate PDF for batch 36026 (tested May 2026); and Naturecan TMG Supplement, 686mg in one capsule, certificate PDF linked without a batch number.
  • Purity figure stated on the page: Time Health TMG 750mg (over 99%, 120 capsules, pullulan shell) and Longevity Box (99%+). Verve states 98%. The other six give no figure.
  • 1000mg a serving as two capsules: Charava TMG 1000mg (2 x 500mg, hypromellose shell, UK-made), Welzo Ultra Purity TMG (60 capsules, 30 servings) and DoNotAge Pure TMG (500mg capsules, 1000mg stated daily serving, 60 or 366 to a bottle).
  • Labelled as betaine anhydrous, with a powder option: Peak Supps Betaine Anhydrous 600mg Capsules, 90 to 360 capsules, made in Wales; the brand also sells a 99% betaine anhydrous powder.
  • 500mg capsules, 90 to a bottle: NMN Bio TMG 500mg, third-party tested in a GMP-certified UK facility, with microcrystalline cellulose and bamboo silica alongside the TMG.
  • Storage advice on the label: only Time Health (original packaging, resealed) and Longevity Box (cool, dry, airtight, dark). The other seven, Verve included, say nothing.

Best TMG supplement UK: the comparison table

Every column is a label fact taken from the product page. "Not stated" means the page does not give it. Prices are left out on purpose; each brand's current price is on its own site, and the reason is in "How we checked".

What the nine labels say

Capsules run from 500mg (Charava, DoNotAge, NMN Bio, and Welzo by implication) through 600mg (Peak Supps) and 686mg (Naturecan) to 750mg (Verve, Time Health, Longevity Box). Four brands label a two-capsule serving: Verve at 1500mg, Charava and Welzo at 1000mg, DoNotAge at 1000mg a day. Three label one capsule, and two (Time Health, NMN Bio) give directions but no serving. Three state a purity figure: Time Health over 99%, Longevity Box 99%+, Verve 98%. Two link a certificate of analysis, Longevity Box with a batch number and date and Naturecan without; Verve supplies one on request; four say third-party tested but show no certificate; Time Health and Peak Supps give neither. Five capsules list only a shell, NMN Bio and Peak Supps add flow agents, and DoNotAge and Welzo do not name the shell. Only Time Health and Longevity Box say how to store the product.

The products in detail

Verve TMG 1500mg Capsules

Verve TMG is the product we make. The label is two lines: 1500mg of trimethylglycine per two-capsule serving, 750mg a capsule, stated as 98% betaine anhydrous, and a plant cellulose shell. Sixty capsules, 30 servings, two capsules once a day with water, in the morning. Vegan, and free from gluten, dairy and soy. Every batch is tested for purity and the certificate of analysis for your batch, with the figure on it, is available on request from hello@vavaverve.com. The gaps: the certificate is on request rather than linked (Longevity Box and Naturecan link theirs), the 98% on the page is below the over 99% Time Health and Longevity Box state, and there is no storage line. £21.99 one-off (73p a serving), £16.49 a month on subscription (55p) or £44.52 a quarter for three packs (49p). It is also in the Core Renewal Stack with NMN 1000mg, Ca-AKG 1000mg, quercetin with fisetin, and spermidine. Who it suits: anyone who wants the largest labelled serving here from a single ingredient, and a certificate they can ask for.

Betaine contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 1.5g of betaine; two capsules of Verve TMG give 1500mg. A daily intake in excess of 4g may significantly increase blood cholesterol levels.

Charava TMG 1000mg

Two veggie capsules of 500mg give a 1000mg serving, taken in the morning with water. The ingredients are TMG and a hypromellose capsule; the page says "100% filler-free" and free from artificial colours, preservatives, gluten, soy and GMOs. Sold as 30, 60 and 90-day supplies, but the page never gives a capsule count. No purity figure. Testing is "third-party tested for purity", with no certificate wording. No storage advice. UK-made in GMP-certified UK facilities. Who it suits: anyone who wants 1000mg as two 500mg capsules from a UK maker and does not need to see a certificate.

DoNotAge Pure TMG

One of the names most often typed into this question. Each capsule is 500mg and the stated daily serving is 1000mg; the page does not say how many capsules make that up, so we have taken it as two. Bottles of 60 and 366. The brand's own page names TMG as the only ingredient, says "free from fillers or additives", and gives no shell, purity figure or storage advice. Testing is "third-party tested, batch by batch", with no certificate wording. The page showed us US dollar pricing and does not say where the brand is based. Healf, its UK stockist, lists TMG and cellulose as the ingredients, "batch-tested to meet a 99%+ standard", and a cool, dry place for storage. Who it suits: anyone who wants 500mg capsules at 1000mg a day and a 366-capsule bottle to buy once.

Time Health TMG 750mg

One capsule is 750mg of trimethylglycine, listed as betaine anhydrous, at over 99% purity, in a pullulan shell made from tapioca. Directions are one to two capsules a day, so a 120-capsule bottle is two to four months. The page says "no synthetic bulking or anti-caking agents" but gives no full ingredients list, no testing statement beyond GMP compliance, and no certificate. It is the only label here that explains its storage advice: original packaging, resealed after each use, because pure TMG absorbs moisture. UK made; Time Health Ltd is registered in Uckfield. The title says 750mg while an older image and the meta text still say 600mg. Who it suits: anyone who wants a 750mg capsule with a purity figure on the page and will set their own capsule count.

Longevity Box TMG Supplement

One 750mg capsule a day, 120 servings in a pack. The ingredients are trimethylglycine and a vegetable cellulose (HPMC) capsule; the brand says "zero fillers, zero binders, zero flow agents". Purity is 99%+, with a test result shown as 99%. Every batch is tested by an independent UK laboratory, and it is one of two products here with a certificate of analysis linked on the page, for batch 36026, tested in May 2026. Storage is a cool, dry, airtight and dark place. Longevity Box Ltd is in Poole, Dorset. Two inconsistencies: one line of the description says 1,000mg where the label table says 750mg, and the meta text calls it a powder. Who it suits: anyone who wants to read the certificate before buying and prefers one capsule a day for four months.

NMN Bio TMG 500mg

Ninety capsules of 500mg, sold in one to twelve-bottle options. The ingredients line is the longest in the table: "Trimethylglycine Anhydrous (Betaine), Microcrystalline Cellulose (Bulking agent), Vegetable Capsule Shell (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose), Bamboo Silica (Anti-caking agent)". Vegan, non-GMO and allergen-free. No purity figure. Third-party tested and packaged in a GMP-certified UK facility; unlike the brand's NMN page, this one has no certificate wording. No storage advice. The directions are a ratio to NMN rather than a fixed serving. NMN Bio Ltd is in London. Who it suits: anyone already using the brand's NMN who wants its TMG to match, and does not mind a bulking agent in the capsule.

Naturecan TMG Supplement

One capsule a day of 686mg betaine anhydrous, a figure the nutrition table states exactly. Sixty capsules is listed as 60 servings; 120 and 180 sizes are also sold. The ingredients are betaine anhydrous and an HPMC capsule (VcapsPlus). No purity percentage, but every batch is third-party tested for safety and purity and a certificate of analysis PDF is linked on the page; it shows no batch number or test date. No storage advice. The ingredients are made in Europe and the vendor is listed as Naturecan UK; the page does not say where the brand is based. Who it suits: anyone who wants one capsule a day and a certificate they can open before ordering.

Welzo Ultra Purity TMG

Sixty capsules labelled 1000mg of TMG per two-capsule serving, so 30 servings, taken daily with food. The ingredients line is "100% Betaine Anhydrous (TMG; Trimethylglycine)", an ingredient statement rather than a purity assay; the mg per capsule is not stated. The page says "no fillers, no binders, no synthetic additives" but does not name the capsule shell. Testing is "third-party tested for purity" and "made in the UK to GMP standards", with no certificate. No storage advice. Welzo's page would not render for our tools, so these facts come from the store's own product data feed. Who it suits: anyone who wants 1000mg as two capsules in a 30-day pack and will check the physical label for the shell.

Peak Supps Betaine Anhydrous 600mg Capsules

The one product here labelled first as betaine anhydrous, from a sports nutrition brand. Each capsule is 600mg and one capsule is the labelled serving, but the directions say three to four a day, so a 90-capsule pack is three to four weeks; 180 and 360 sizes are sold. The ingredients are TMG (betaine anhydrous) powder, an HPMC shell coloured with sodium copper chlorophyllin, and silicon dioxide. No purity figure, no testing statement and no certificate. No storage advice. Capsules are made in Wales. The brand also sells a Betaine Anhydrous Powder in 100g to 1kg bags, 2g a serving, listed as 99% TMG and 1% silicon dioxide. Who it suits: anyone who wants betaine anhydrous capsules from a sports nutrition brand, or the only UK powder option we found.

Others you will see named

Metabolics Betaine, a UK-made 90-capsule product, is betaine citrate at 560mg a capsule; that is a different salt and the label gives the weight of the salt, not a betaine figure, so it is not in the table. Vitality Pro's TMG 500mg appears on overseas reseller sites but we could not find a live page on the brand's own site. We found no TMG product at Youth & Earth or Kiki Health, and Bulk's and Myprotein's UK sites would not let our tools read their search pages. Kirkman Labs (sold through Welzo), NOW Foods (through Healf), Life Extension, Nutricost, Swanson, ProHealth Longevity and Renue by Science are US brands; we have not checked them on a UK site. Betaine HCl products are betaine hydrochloride, a different compound, and are not covered here.

How to compare TMG supplements

  • Three names, one compound. TMG, trimethylglycine and betaine anhydrous are the same substance; "anhydrous" means the water-free form. Betaine HCl (betaine hydrochloride) is a different product, and betaine citrate (Metabolics) is a salt whose label weight includes the citrate.
  • Dose per capsule, then per serving, then servings per pack. Capsules are 500mg to 750mg. A serving is one capsule (Longevity Box, Naturecan, Peak Supps), two (Verve, Charava, Welzo) or a daily figure (DoNotAge); Time Health and NMN Bio give no serving. Sixty capsules at two a day is 30 servings; 120 at one a day is 120.
  • Is a purity figure stated? Time Health (over 99%), Longevity Box (99%+) and Verve (98%) give one on the page. "Ultra purity", "ultra-pure" and "100% betaine anhydrous" are names and ingredient statements, not assay figures.
  • Is a certificate of analysis available, and how? Longevity Box links one with a batch number and date; Naturecan links one without. Verve supplies one on request. Charava, DoNotAge, NMN Bio and Welzo say third-party tested but show no certificate. Time Health and Peak Supps give no testing statement.
  • What else is in the capsule. Check the shell (hypromellose, HPMC, vegetable cellulose and plant cellulose are the same family; pullulan is a different plant-derived shell) and anything after it: microcrystalline cellulose, silica, a shell colour. Two brands do not name the shell.
  • Storage. Time Health's label says pure TMG absorbs moisture and should stay in its original packaging, resealed. Longevity Box says cool, dry, airtight and dark. The other seven give no storage advice.
  • Price the plan you will actually be on. One-off, monthly and multi-pack plans differ. Check each brand's site for today's price; we have not compared prices in this article.

TMG supplements: your questions

How much TMG per serving do UK brands put in a capsule?

Per capsule the range is 500mg (Charava, DoNotAge, NMN Bio) to 750mg (Verve, Time Health, Longevity Box), with Peak Supps at 600mg and Naturecan at 686mg. Per labelled serving, Verve is 1500mg as two capsules, Charava and Welzo 1000mg as two, DoNotAge 1000mg a day, and Longevity Box, Naturecan and Peak Supps one capsule. This is what the labels say, not a recommendation.

Is TMG the same as betaine, and is betaine HCl the same thing?

Yes and no. TMG and betaine are the same compound, trimethylglycine; the supplement form is betaine anhydrous, and every product in the table contains it, whichever name is on the front. Betaine HCl is betaine hydrochloride, a different compound sold as a separate product, and betaine citrate is another salt. If a label says HCl or citrate, it is not what this article compares.

Which UK TMG products publish a certificate of analysis?

Two link one on the product page: Longevity Box, for batch 36026 tested in May 2026, and Naturecan, as a PDF with no batch number or date. Verve supplies the certificate for your batch on request from hello@vavaverve.com. Charava, DoNotAge, NMN Bio and Welzo say third-party tested but show no certificate. Time Health and Peak Supps give no testing statement.

Does Verve TMG contain anything other than TMG?

No. The label lists trimethylglycine, 1500mg per two-capsule serving, stated as 98% betaine anhydrous, and a plant cellulose capsule shell: no bulking agent, no anti-caking agent, no blend. Every batch is tested for purity and the certificate of analysis, with the figure for your batch, is available on request from hello@vavaverve.com. The page gives no storage advice.

TMG capsules or powder: what is the difference on the label?

Eight of the nine are capsules only. A capsule label fixes the dose per capsule and the count per bottle, and adds a shell and sometimes a flow agent. Peak Supps is the only brand here with a powder: 100g to 1kg bags, a 2g serving measured as half a scoop, listed as 99% TMG and 1% silicon dioxide. A powder count depends on a level scoop.

Where can I buy TMG in the UK?

All nine brands sell direct from their own websites; DoNotAge is also stocked by Healf. Verve as a brand is also sold at Boots, Holland & Barrett and Amazon UK; we have not checked the TMG listing at each. Verve TMG is £21.99 one-off, £16.49 a month on subscription or £44.52 a quarter for three packs at vavaverve.com.

How we checked

Every label fact above was taken from the brand's own website on 5 November 2026: vavaverve.com, charava.co.uk, donotage.org, timehealth.co.uk, longevitybox.co.uk, nmnbio.co.uk, uk.naturecan.com, welzo.com and peaksupps.co.uk, using the store's own product data feed where a page would not render. Healf.com was also read as DoNotAge's UK stockist, and metabolics.com for the betaine citrate product. Where a page did not state a figure we have written "Not stated" rather than guessing, and we have not repeated any brand's claims about what TMG does. Prices are deliberately not compared here: they change weekly and promotions distort them. Every brand's current price is on its own site. Verve makes TMG 1500mg Capsules; the table is label facts, our opinion is in the text.
